New Year's Wishes

2007 is coming to an end. There are many wishes waiting for me to achieve！
2008 is gonna to be a busy year！
First wish：I hope my homework can all pass this semester.
Second wish：I hope my basketball skill could improve. Hope I can be the best player of the first form in our school.
Third wish：I hope I could join our department’s volley ball team.
Forth wish：Hope all of my family can be healthy forever！
Fifth wish：Hope all of my friends can do good job on there studies！
Sixth wish：Hope I could have time to play my guitar and dance！
Seventh wish：My brother can have a girlfriend.
Hope all my wishes can come true！

Running Away From School

Last night，阿貴and I runaway from school. We went to Taipei to play all night.
First we went to 士林 night market to have our dinner and look for some clothes for 阿貴’s sister who was in Austria. When we are stolling around，we found an interesting sign which writes “monster head shop.”It interested us because the nickname of阿貴’s senior is monster.
After stolling 士林night market，we started off toward Eslite. We decide to stay there till the next morning. We look around for books that we are going to read next semester which are about hepatitis B，the poision of snake and gene. But all three books were sold out.
We were a bit hungry when we were reading there，so we went to the coffee shop right next to the bookstore. We ordered some sandwhichs and I also take a cup of coffee，because it is a bit cold there and the coffee can also keep me awake. We eat till 4:00am.
During the eating we talk a lot about our life in the past and something happened recently in our class，we found out that there are many similar thoughts between us！
About 6:00 in the morning，we left Eslite and headed for 台大to take a walk！It has been a long time since the last time for me to stay in the bookstore overnight，I really like this kind of life！Maybe I will do it as soon as possible.

ALS - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

I read an article about ALS on UpToDate website. I was curious about it because I wanted to know if there is any disease beside cancer that we still can not cure by today’s medicial technology. Suprisingly, I found most immune disease, congenital or required, is poorly curable. Another incurable disease is genetic disease, including ALS, Down syndome, etc. ALS is quite rare that few researches and trails are ongoing today. The prognosis of the ptient is so poor that once aquired ALS is no less then sentenced to death.
The incidence of ALS is about 3~7 per 100000. The clinical apparence of ALS is starting fromweakness of one leg and contralateral hand. Symptoms will then spread to the spare limbs. Patients would feel numb and senseless of the affacted skin areas, along with muscle power decrease and overactive tendon reflex. With the disease processing, patients’ life quality goes down quickly. Within three years, ALS patients would suffer from respiratory muscle weakening and die of repiratory failure.
Doctors often do not tell these patients the diagnosis right away, because it is hard to accept the results of acquiring this uncurable disease. With their condition worsening, the patient would suddenly realize that they could not go back to their original lives. By the time of knowing the cruel fact, patients is often bed-ridden for a long tme. The only thing they can do is watching the disease slowly took away everything from them.
There is few active medication use in ALS. The only effective medicine is Riluzol, an atagonist for glutamate, where central neurons are poisoned by glutamate in ALS. But with the blood-brain-bairrer, Riluzol is dose-limited effecting brain neurons. Nevertheless, Riluzol is the only drug that proved life-gaining in trails and approved by FDA. Being a student in biology field, I think it is my responsibility to study hard so that I could offer my effort in pharmaceutical industry to save people from evil diseases.

Shrek 2

This Wednesday, I watch the movie “Shrek П”. Since I have already watched its first movie “Shrek”, it comes to me that this epsode is far better than its predecessor one. It teaches us that true love is beyond appearance, straight forward each heart beloved, no matter how far they are.
In this epsode, Serek and Feona went visiting Fiona’s parents, the king and queen of the kingdom “Far Far Away”. Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Shrek were not welcome by almost all kingdom, for their ugly appearance. The fairy god mother wanted her son heir to the kingdom, so she plota plan to let a frog become the king, the condition was that her son must become the prince by married with princess Fiona. In this movie, the fairy god mother owned a pharmaceutical factory, which is funny because that in reality every American president is founded by huge pharmacies.
For some reasons, Shrek accidentally took the medicine of beauty-refined. He became handsome and popular, but he could no more be recognized by Fiona. In the end, with the aid of Shrek’s friends, Shrek won his bridge back. By the time of 12 o’clock at mid night, Shrek wanted to kiss Fiona, so they could keep the magic power of the beauty-refine-medicine inside their body and turned beauty ever after. But Fiona refused. She understood Shrek, who is an orger loving swamp and freedom. She would like to give up her beauty and went back to the swamp with her husband, living happily ever after.
This story told us that appearance is not everything in love and marriage. True love is to share life happily with our couples. Nevertheless, I still want a handsome guy to be my boyfriend. Because even he is lousy, he is still handsome and I can take him with me to show off. If he is both ugly and lousy, then I would be one of the stupidest girls in the world.

I Would Like to Be a Exchange Student

Today we went to listen the cathedra about international exchange student. In fact I have a dream of going abroad to study. Although I study life science here in Taiwan，but I would like to study law in German. It is a dream when I was small. Science and law was my favorite subject. Although I do not know any connection between them. But I still want to study them.
I know English is important for going abroad，but I had never conscientious study them. Maybe I should make reading magazine into practice，or I will never have the chance of being an exchange student.
I have an aspiration to suggest to our International Academic Center：can we visit some university during summer vacation？This can make us know more information about the school we might choose in the future. Thank you！
And I would like to ask：Is there any chance or ways going abroad to study law？Thanks！

GO!台啤!

Recently when I was buying my dinner at Family Market，I incidentally found a magazine about SBL on the shelf，with my curiosity I bought it without thinking.
The news inside really surprise me. It has a big change with the player and with the team. Last seasons champioin－台啤，it was also my favorite team，this year bought in two which plays very well，they are 楊敬敏and吳岱豪，adding 林志傑－the MVP of last season，and何守正－a good partner of 林志傑，I hope 台啤can win another championship this season！
Althought台啤has become more strong，but there are two other arch-rival：裕隆and達欣. 裕隆 bought two famous player from 緯來，they are 楊哲宜and李啟億；達欣added a lot of new players this season，so 台啤can not underestimate their enemy！
The game this season is so thrill，hope I can go and watch some exciting games！

Visiting the Science Museum

Last Saturday，my classmates and I visited the Science Museum.
We watch many things. But the exhibition which interest me most is the Life Science Hall. In the beginning we saw bacteria and virus，which was the first creature on earth. Then we saw how the volcanoe exploded，the hot magma and steam cause evaporation then it account rain. The rain account ocean，then the first life being was born.
After a long time，creatures living in the ocean started to climbed up to the land. At first they can not adapt to the dry circumstance on earth，so they still have to live near the water，scientist call them amphibian. Soon there are voo many creature living beside the water，the competition between the organisms became more bitter，so some creature started moving toward interior. To adapt the enviorment，creatures accure scales and shells，at the end of the hall we saw dinosaurs.

The dinosaurs are made as real，it really convulse me！Hope next time when visiting the Science Museum we can watch more interest exhibition. Things in the museum really amazed me！
